The curriculum
Your children as individuals and as learners.
The Orgaz Nursery School Curriculum follows the six learning areas outlined by the Early Learning Goals of the National Curriculum Framework: Language and Literacy, Mathematics, Physical Development, Creative Development, Personal and Social Development and Knowledge and Understanding of the World.
The six areas help us plan, organise and support the learning environment taking place at our Nursery School. The Early Learning Goals establish objectives for the children to reach by the end of each stage. We believe the education delivered to children cannot be divided into separate learning areas. A teaching experience provides opportunities to develop a number of competencies, skills and concepts across several areas of learning. Following the Early Learning Goals we aim to provide all the educational needs of the students.
The Curriculum Planned is based on the British National Curriculum for Year 1 pupils. This curriculum comprises the following subjects:
English
Mathematics
Science
History
Geography
Personal, Social & Health Education (PSHE)
Art
Design Technology (DT)
Music
Physical Education
Even though these subjects have separate and distinct learning intentions for the children. We do not always deliver them in separate lessons. That is to say that within a given lesson, we will be developing ideas and meeting learning intentions from a range of subject areas.
